About This Organization:   The Arts Council for the South Shuswap was formed in January of 2015 to act as an umbrella organization for all  arts & cultural related groups in the South Shuswap.  It is a registered non-profit society in the Province of BC, holding a charitable taxation number. Currently, the council oversees the following community arts and cultural groups:

SSCT - South Shuswap Children's Theatre - This theatre troupe offers theatre instruction and some backstage training in set design, backdrops and props to children aged 6 to 15.  After rehearsing for five months, the theatre troupe presents a full scale production each Spring to the general public.

FACES - Fine Arts Community Explorations in the Shuswap -  Formerly a self-owned business in the community, FACES is now part a non-profit committee under the new arts council.  FACES offers general programming to children and adults in dance, art, music and some theatre.

ACCESS - Arts & Cultural Communuty Events in the South Shuswap -  This exciting committee was recently formed to oversee arts and cultural events to the residents of and tourists to the South Shuswap.  Watch for Art in the Park, culinary events and Music in the Bay, a free outside concert to attend each Thursday evening from 630 to 800 on Centennial Field, by the water in Blind Bay.  Bring your lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy the great music weekly!

SLFA - Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts - In 2015, the Council took over the Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts and changed up the format to offer four power-packed days of art, music and theatre throughout the South Shuswap region.  The 2016 festival will take place July 21st to 24th - watch for details !
