Burger & Beer: First Event a Hit! Join Us for Round Two Next Wednesday, June 4th at 4:00 PM at Bayside Marina & Grill!

The first Burger & Beer Series event at Timber Restaurant in the Blind Bay Marketplace was a resounding success! We were thrilled to see leaders from nonprofit organizations, local business owners, and representatives from across our area come together to connect and enjoy the evening.
We’re also proud to share that our 50/50 draw at the event raised funds to support the North and South Shuswap Community Resources (NSSCR).

Don’t miss the second event in the series—happening next Wednesday, June 4th at 4:00 PM at Bayside Marina & Grill!
Do not miss this opportunity to network!
Please email us at manager@southshuswapchamber.com to reserve your seat so we can anticipate attendance. Payment of $25 can be made via e-transfer to the same email or by cash at the event.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Thank you very much to our sponsors: Shuswap Economic Development Society, Community Futures Shuswap, SCIP, CSRD Area G, and SASCU.

Events Calendar - South Shuswap Chamber

We are happy to announce the launch of a new, comprehensive calendar of events for the South Shuswap! This calendar is now live and features a wide range of activities—from AGMs to markets, fundraisers, music events, and more.
To keep everyone informed, we’ll also be posting a summary of the week’s events every Monday on our Facebook page. Make sure to check in and see what’s happening!
In addition, we’ve created a Facebook group called “South Shuswap Events” where you can share and discover information about all the local happenings.
The events calendar was made possible thanks to the contract our Chamber has with CSRD Area C & G, supporting the promotion of local events across our region.
If your organization would like to feature an event on our calendar, please email us at manager@southshuswapchamber.com.
We look forward to helping your event get the attention it deserves!

Market By the Bay

Don't forget to save every Thursday evening for Market By the Bay—your favorite Thursday afternoon tradition at Centennial Field! Come browse local vendors, enjoy great company, and soak in the sounds of live music every week.
While often enjoyed as a community gathering, Market by the Bay is not just an event—it is an economic development initiative proudly led by the Chamber. The market aims to support local entrepreneurs and showcase small businesses.
We’re also happy to be working with Laurisa Gallant from Shuswap Community Events as this year’s Market Coordinator. For information on how to join the market or for vendor-related questions, please contact Laurisa at: scevents23@gmail.com

Please Note:
If you are a musician or performer interested in being part of Music by the Bay experience, or if you are a food truck operator, please contact the Arts Council for the South Shuswap at admin@shuswaparts.com assist@shuswaparts.com
We can’t wait to see you there!

First Impressions Program

We joined five regional chambers in the BC Rural Centre’s First Impressions program, aimed at evaluating and improving how our communities are perceived. Thanks to ETSI-BC funding, participants will exchange unbiased feedback to identify quick wins and long-term strategies for enhancing public spaces, services, and amenities.
We’re seeking six volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to take part this summer—no business ownership required. Interested? Reach out to us! Send us an email at manager@southshuswapchamber.com

Tourism Kiosk Updates Underway!

In our last newsletter, we were excited to share the news that the South Shuswap Chamber of Commerce had been awarded the REDIP grant to update the tourism kiosks throughout the South Shuswap. We’re happy to announce that this important work is now underway!
At the same time, we’re also working on a new desk map, which was requested by CSRD Area C & G to better support visitors and residents with local information.
Stay tuned for more updates as these projects progress—we’re thrilled to be working on improvements that will benefit our entire community!

A new Library of images and videos for the South Shuswap

We’re excited to share that we’re working on compiling a compelling library of images showcasing the South Shuswap! This collection will feature photos of local attractions, important events, and iconic locations throughout our area, and will be used on our website and social media channels to highlight everything our region has to offer.
This past weekend, we kicked things off with drone photos of the Bay, local marinas, Copper Island, Sorrento Park, Notch Hill Hall, Sorrento Farmers’ Market, and Carlin School Market. So if you see us around, make sure to stop by and say hi!
A big thank you to LPG Films for all their hard work so far. We’ll continue capturing more images in the coming weeks, especially as we gear up to showcase the summer crowds. This project will continue throughout the year as we build a robust library that shows just how much there is to see and experience here in the South Shuswap – for locals and visitors alike!
